The histological study revealed that the lung was covered by a thin fibroelastic capsule sending septa into the parenchyma but not divide it into lobules. The primary bronchus was lined with high pseudostratified columnar ciliated epithelium with goblet cells and intraepithelial gland which sometimes form separate glands. Neutral and acidic mucopolysaccharides were detected in goblet cells and glands. The wall was supported by c - shaped hyaline cartilage at the first part, latter on was divided into plates. The primary bronchus leaded to secondary bronchi which were lined with the same type of epithelium of the primary one but with shorter cilia. The cartilage disappeared and the wall was supported by circular and oblique smooth muscle fibers. The tertiary bronchus (parabronchus) was observed arising from both bronchi. The parabronchus and the respiratory tissue form the lung units which were poorly separated from each other UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
