<br/><br/> This research aims at evaluation of the basaltic rocks found at the Abu Treifiya area, Egypt for production of rock wools. A comparative study with the Bahariya basaltic rocks is included. Petrography, Geochemistry, XRD and SEM investigations were performed on both the raw materials as well as the produced fibers. This investigation revealed the validity of the Abu Treifiya basaltic rocks for the production of rock wool and these rocks can be announced to be a possible source for this industry
