The infection established in fish with IP injection of 0.3 ml of 3X108 CFU{u2215}ml of C. perfringens, and in rats by feeding on insufficient cooked infected O. niloticus, Biochemical and molecular studies were established after 3- and 6- days post challenge. Liver functions (ALT, AST and ALP) were significantly (P{u2264}0.05) highly elevated. Kidney functions (Urea and uric acid) were not affected but the Cr. showed significant increase in its level (P{u2264}0.05). And the Ca. showed significant decrease in its level (P{u2264}0.05). CRP elevated in rats and O. niloticus. Expression pattern of A2M gene was investigated using a semi- quantitative RT-PCR in liver, spleen and kidney tissues, which showed high expression after the bacterial infection indicating that A2M is immune responder against C. perfringens infection UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
