The solution to extend these limits is the replacement of electronic signals by light which allows much higher bandwidth as well as miniaturization. It is well known that the diffraction limit of light in dielectric media does not allow the localization of electromagnetic waves into the desirable nanoscale regions that are much smaller than the light wavelengths in the material. Fortunately however, it turns out that optical nanoantennas can enable technology to achieve future wireless connectivity at the nanoscale dimensions. The use of optical nanoantennas is one of the most feasible ways for beating the diffraction. In this thesis we study the performance of the gold nanoantennas (and silver) placed on glass substrate and illuminated by a plane wave ER -
