The study gives a description of Egypts economic geography and patterns of regional inequality. The study shows that regional inequality in living standards is a direct result of the agglomeration of economic activity in specific regions. Agglomeration of economic activity and the resulting unevenness in Egypts economic geography are explained by several factors which are: disparity in resource endowments or natural geography, agglomeration economies, and public policies that negatively affect the geographic balance of economic activity
