A category of heart failure unique to pediatrics is volume overload lesions typically left-to-right shunt lesions, such as large ventricular septal defects (VSDs), patent ductus arteriosus, or endocardial cushion defects. (Circulation., 2009) Treatment to be used in volume-overload conditions is to decrease pulmonary congestion and thus decrease the work of breathing. (Circulation., 2009) Methods: We prospectively enrolled 25 patients presented to Cairo University children hospital with manifestations of heart failure secondary to left to right shunt they have subjected to careful history taking, clinical examination, ECG, CXR and Echocardiography .they received B Blockers in addition to other lines of treatment as (ACE inhibitors, Diuretics) and they reevaluated after 1-3 months. Results: The mean of age (9.2± 6.2) months old and the mean weight (5.5± 1.8) kg among study group. All the patients received beta blocker in addition to other and anti-failure measures including ACE inhibitors, as well as Lasix as diuretics .digoxin as an inotropic agent not included in this study UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
