The fire control problem can be defined as how to point a gun so that the fired projectile will hit the target. This research aims to develop a new method of solving the fire control problem for air-defense applications. This method is based on the iterative numerical solution of the equations of motion of the projectile in real time using a point-mass or a six-degrees-of-freedom ballistic trajectory model while utilizing a complete aerodynamic model for the projectile obtained using PRODAS software package. The effect of computational time on the hit accuracy and the maximum targets speed that can be handled is also studied. The method is tested using computer simulations against different target scenarios and successful hits are obtained using a few iterations. The results also revealed the effect of computational time on decreasing the hit accuracy and the targets maximum speed
