<br/><br/> This thesis discusses the determination of antimicrobial residues in water samples. The occurrence of elevated concentrations of them in the environment is of great concern as their occurrence  cause harmful effects on humans or may have the potential to harm the environment like development of antibiotic-resistant  bacteria. Different analytical techniques including univariate, multivariate spectrophotometric methods, chromatographic and  electrochemical methods to analyze the trace amounts of the selected pharmaceuticals were done
