Gold magneto NPs were synthesized using the chemical co-precipitation method in presence of polyethylamine (PEI) as a capping agent and reducing agent for the gold. The produced nanoparticles have average size around 21 nm in diameter as determined from transmission electron microscopy. The optical and the magnetic properties had been investigated via absorption spectroscopy (UV-VIS) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The particles show characteristic absorption band due to surface plasmon resonance of the gold shell and a hysteresis loop due to the magnetic core. The crystal structure and chemical composition had been determined via X-Ray diffraction (XRD) and EDX, and the surface properties have been investigated using zeta potential and the FTIR. All the chemical analysis confirmed the formation of the mono-dispersed core{u2013}shell Au- Fe3O4 nanostructure. These nanoparticles were used as labeling material for bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in vitro and in vivo. ER -
