The present study has been carried out to investigate the possible radio-protective effect of Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles (NPs) through the injection before or after whole body gamma irradiation of rats. Fe₃O₄ NPs are known by its low cost and biological safety compared with other chemical radio-protectors. Fe₃O₄ NPs examined at a low concentration dose of 1.5 mg/Kg. Fe₃O₄ NPs was prepared by co-precipitation method and characterized by TEM and XRD. Fifty male albino rats were used per each experiment; they are divided into 5 groups. First, control, second, injected with 1.5mg/Kg Fe₃O₄ NPs twice a week for three weeks. Third, exposed to sublethal dose (5.5 Gy) of whole body gamma irradiation. Fourth, received the same dose of Fe3O4 before exposing to 5.5 Gy radiation. Fifth, received the same dose of Fe₃O₄ after radiation exposure (5.5 Gy) biochemical analysis UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
