GIT anomalies are one of the most common congenital abnormalities detected among neonates admitted to the surgical NICU. they often require surgical intervention and intensive care, therefore challenging the pediatrician and pediatric surgeon. our aim is to screen neonates who were diagnosed with GIT anomalies for other associated intra-abdominal congenital anomalies using abdominal ultrasound.this study was performed on 40 newborns diagnosed to have GIT anomalies who were admitted to the surgical NICU of Abu-Elreesh Teaching Hospital. abdominal ultrasound was done by pediatric ultrasound expert using: general electric apparatus equipped with multi-frequency convex-linear and linear transducer. Gastrointestinal malformations are frequently associated with other congenital disorders; (55%) of cases had 1 congenital anomaly which was the presenting anomaly, (42.5%) had 2 congenital anomalies and (2.5%) had 3 congenital anomalies. among the studied cases; 35% had abnormal ECHO findings. the main cause of death was neonatal sepsis; 50% of dead cases
