Their ages ranged from 50 to 60 years and at least 3 years postmenopause, were selected from outpatient clinic of gynecology department, at damanhour National medical institute. They were randomly assigned into two equal groups (A and B). Women in group (A) participated in an aerobic exercise, 3 sessions per week for 3 months. Women in group (B) were asked to retrain their usual life style pattern and not participate in any exercise program. Prolactin, weight, BMI and waist circumference were measured at the beginning of this study and after 3 months. Results of this study showed a significant reduction of prolactin at post study comparing to pre study in group (A). There was a significant increase of prolactin at post study comparing to pre study in group (B).There was significant reduction of BMI and waist circumference at post study comparing to pre study in group (A) but there was no significant difference of BMI and waist circumference at post study comparing to pre study in group (B). There were no significant differences between two groups. It also showed weak positive correlation between prolactin and BMI. Aerobic exercise is effective in lowering prolactin concentration in postmenopausal women and thus decreases the risk of postmenopausal diseases ER -
