They have proven to be more thermodynamically efficient and economically feasible than single purpose power generation or water production plants. In the present thesis, thermo-economic model of a superstructure combined cogeneration power plant is introduced. The plant consists of Gas Turbine (GT), Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG), Steam Turbine (ST) and Multi Effect Desalination Thermo Vapor Compressor system (MED-TVC). The gas turbine generates electrical power, as well as exhaust gases provide the heat needed for further power generation in a back pressure steam turbine. The steam exhausted from the steam turbine in used to produce distillate water through MED-TVC units. ER -
