Patients and methods: The study included 30 symptomatic patients, their ages ranged from 31 - 75 years (mean age 49.5 ± 9.3 SD). FFDM, 3D tomosynthesis and Ultrasound examinations were done and imaging findings of each modality were evaluated individually & each lesion takes score according to BI-RADS Atlas 2013. Results : All modalities were compared regarding detection, diagnosis & characterization of lesions, each individually assessed. Diagnosis & Characterization of breast lesions dramatically improved when 3D tomosynthesis & Ultrasound images were considered in the evaluation. The sensitivity, specificity, PPV, NPV and accuracy of digital mammography was 79%, 83%, 95%, 50% and 80% have significantly enhanced on applying Tomosynthesis to be 95.5%, 100%, 100%, 87.5% and 96.5% & Ultrasound to be 95.5%, 100%, 100%, 89% and 96.5%.Conclusion: Ultrasound coupled To Mammography is comparable to 3D Tomosynthesis in enhancing the detection and characterization of breast lesions on Digital Mammography especially in dense breasts ER -
