Plenty of bacterial isolates were recovered from beet rhizosphere. As a result of screening in the Lab. and greenhouse, 17 isolates were shown to be potent to minimize the root infection with Fusarium oxysporum and F.solani and enhance the plant growth. They were subjected to phenotypic identification. Assaying for the mode of action of these strains showed the ability of these isolates to produce several secondary metabolites responsible for their activity. Molecular characterization was carried out as a confirmation to the most efficient ones. New strains were identified and deposited at gene bank under their accession numbers. Out of the defined strains, Bacillus subtilis strain IAM 12118 was shown to be the most promising candidate that can be applied as a bioagent in managing root-infecting pathogens and improving the growth parameters of plants in the field UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
