<br/><br/> This study aims to investigate some accessible plants belonging to  family Salicaceae for their cytotoxic and antioxidant activities so as to reach  an active plant extract, active fraction and or chemical entity that could be a  candidate for cancer chemotherapy. Biological screening 0f 13 extracts for cytotoxicity was done on five human cancer cell lines assessed by MTT method and for their free radical scavenging activity assessed through the DPPH bioassy
