The knee is among the most common sites of involvement. Aim of the work: To evaluate the effect of intra-articular injection of platelet rich plasma (PRP) on the functional status of knee joint measured by the knee injury and osteoarthritis outcome score (koos) and the visual analogue scale for pain (VAS). Patients and methods: The study was carried out on 30 patients with mild to moderate primary knee OA. They were injected intra-articularly with 4 ml PRP for the affected joint, twice at 1 month interval. Clinical examination, VAS and KOOS score were performed before and after PRP treatment. Results: after 6 months, The VAS score showed significant improvement from 6.80(mean of pre injection) to3.47 (mean of post injection) and all items of koos score (pain, symptoms, activities of daily living, sports and recreation function and knee related quality of life) were significantly improved UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
