The health and the safety of pharmaceutical products consumers are protected by the national control laboratories. Prior the pharmaceutical product is approved to the market; several tests must be applied to ensure that these products meet the accepted standard of quality, efficacy and safety. However, time consuming method is usually stood as barrier to achieve fast results. Moreover, developing country laboratories are suffering from deficiency of sophisticated analytical instruments. This study concerns developing fast, simple, cheap and accurate accessible analytical methods for the simultaneous determination of selected antidepressant mixtures.Using 5 cm reversed phase column amitriptyline and chlordiazepoxide mixture or imipramine and alprazolam mixture could be determined accurately. Moreover, nortriptyline the impurity of amitriptyline could be quantified from 0.1og mL-1. On the other hand, capillary zone electrophoresis method could be developed. Similarly to HPLC method nortriptyline could be separated. Moreover, amitriptyline, imipramine, sertraline, chlordiazepoxide and nortriptyline could be separated simultaneously in one analytical run using the same background electrode
