Fractures of the metacarpals are common, amounting to about one third of all hand fractures. If they are angulated, rotated or shortened, especially if they are multiple, they will require fixation. The goal of treatment of fractures of the metacarpals includes prevention of rotational deformity, and preservation of the longitudinal and transverse arches. Percutaneous pinning fixation of unstable metacarpal fracture is simple and effective method to maintain reduction and prevent stiffness of wrist and hand and minimizing operative soft tissue damage
