Further Study in Biologically Active Coumarins Benzopyrones and furobenzopyrones are significant class of natural compounds isolated mainly from higher plants associated to Rutaceae families. They have a broad range and diversity of biological activities. Photochemotherapy designates a treatment method in which light of an appropriate wavelength is used to induce a therapeutic response in presence of photosensitizing drug such as PUVA. In this study, new intermediates and final benzopyrone, furobenzopyrones, tetrahydrobenzofurobenzopyrone and benzofurobenzopyrone derivatives were synthesized and screened for antibacterial and photosensitizing activities. Furthermore, docking study was undertaken to evaluate the binding affinity and orientation of compounds into the active sites of appropriate gyrase enzymes, compared with their antibacterial activity
