This research aims to design a wind turbine with rated wind speed matches the average wind speed along the Gulf of Suez area. The design process started with airfoil selection using XFOIL software, then programming a MATLAB code based on the blade- element momentum theory for the 3-D design of the blade and calculation of the net output power. ANSYS Fluent was used for more accurate results. Finally the boundary layer suction concept was implemented for improvement of the blade aerodynamic performance ER -
