It's a mediator produced by human eosinophil and placental epithelial cells. EDN is a serological biomarker that has been proposed and evaluated as the marker of allergic manifestations like asthma. This case control study aimed to study the serum level of EDN in asthmatic children in comparison to healthy controls, correlate its level with total serum IgE. For this purpose, 20 asthmatic chuldren with mild asthma, 22 asthmatic children with moderate asthma and 8 asthmatic children with severe asthma were recruited from pediatric asthmatic outpatients clinic in AboElreish pediatric hospital and studied in comparison to 30 healthy children (age and sex matched) with no previous history of asthma or akkergic disorders. Serum EDN levels were significantly higher in asthmatic children than controls, p- value <0.00. Serum IgE was significantly higher in asthmatic cases compared with controls p- value, 0.017 UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
