Egypt has a structurally and architecturally distinctive heritage which belongs to different consecutive eras. According to the latest World Heritage List of the UNESCO in 2016, Egypt has 7 heritage sites. There are two sites from the list in UNESCOs watch list (Historic Cairo - Memphis and its Necropolis 2the Pyramid Fields from Giza to Dahshur3) and one site is already listed in UNESCOs list of danger (Abu Mena cultural heritage site). Hence the necessity to stress on sustaining these valuable sites, therefore the main research aim is toIntegrate landscape planning as a sustainability tool for cultural heritage sites in Egyptian national strategy. This research tackles two main objectives. First, to examine the use of landscape planning in sustaining cultural heritage sites in Egypt. Second, to identify the major obstacles that contributed to the inability of using landscape planning as a sustainability tool for cultural heritage sites in Egypt. The research methodology framework has two main parts, theoretical and applied. Theoretical framework, is intended to deduct a generic model(preliminary theoretical model) from studying multiple literatures. It aimed to explore scientists and experts general opinions and points of view in the field of landscape planning. The model focused on assessing environmentally sensitive areas situation. This model is being tested on successful cases for cultural heritage sites, according to UNESCO. Afterwards the preliminary model was developed and modified to come up with a final model capable of testing cultural heritage sites situation that matches its needs
