Experimental and numerical investigation of the effects of winglets on an aircraft wing performance and structure is presented. A 3-D winglets analysis is performed on a civil aircraft wing. The study was divided into three stages. In the first stage, three wings using CFD software are numerically investigated. In the second stage, the aerodynamic characteristic around a civil aircraft wing are measured, and in the final stage, structure analysis using FEM is performed. The numerical results are in good agreement with experimental data and show blended connection enhances the lift coefficient appreciably. The structure results show composite material reduces wing weight
