The study was performed at Cairo fatemic hospital on 2 equal groups of a total number of 50 out of 200 randomly selected patients undergoing cataract extraction surgery. Unfortunately, there was a little difference between both groups regarding the primary and secondary outcomes. Although ultrasound really helped visualizing the needle and orbital structures, its affordability and experience required for professional and fast block are challenging. On the other hand, experience and precaution truly minimize complication rates in blind techniques. Further studies on larger patient populations are need to really explore the potential of ultrasound in ocular regional anesthesia
