However, the optimum surface conditions that enhance the bone osseointegration of such materials are not well established. The current work aims at exploring the effect of the different surface treatments/conditions on enhancing the bone osseointegration of such alloys. This was revealed by investigating the alloy susceptibility to grow Hydroxyapatite on their surfaces after immersion in simulated body fluid (SBF). The alloy samples were produced by forging and casting. The surface conditions investigated were the mechanically-polished, furnace oxidized, alkaline-treated surfaces and hydrothermal treatment. With evident differences being observed between alloy compositions and production processes, the results showed that surface of the polished samples of forged Ti-6Al-7Nb shows high rates of Hydroxyapatite (HA) precipitation, where the surface of oxidized samples highly enhanced the precipitation of whitlockit and Hydroxyapatite precipitation on the sample surfaces of Ti-6Al-7Nb than Ti-6Al-4V. In alkaline treatment a very small amount of Ca⁺⁺ has been traced on the surface of forged & cast Ti-6Al-7Nb where an extra P detected on the surface of Ti-6Al-4V, which show the lack of the effectiveness of the using this technique with Ti-6Al-4V &Ti-6Al-7Nb. The hydrothermal treatment in calcium containing solution show a brushite precipitation in polished samples of Ti-6Al-7Nb, where the Cast samples show whitlockit and HA Precipitation. The study shows the consideration of using static immersion system with SBF than using dynamic system ER -
