This thesis introduces three-dimensional circuit models to simulate Maxwells equations. A basic two dimensional long transmission line circuit is used to construct the three-dimensional circuit models which is proved to satisfy Maxwells equation. The method is tested in the problem of electromagnetic scattering from dielectric bodies. The effect of the incident wave in the dielectric scatterer (the polarization current) is replaced in the circuit model by voltage sources in the space of the dielectric volume. Open boundaries are realized by terminating the circuit by a suitable wave impedance which is obtained using the exact solution of an infinitesimal current source. Results obtained using this absorbing terminating impedance are found to be more accurate than that obtained in case of termination by characteristic impedance. The method is used to solve the problem of scattering of plane waves by dielectric scatterers. The obtained results are compared with exact solution if exists and with that obtained by HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator)
