This research proposes an integrated design methodology to reduce the energy consumption and optimize the Photovoltaic (PV) integration in energy retrofit of an office building by minimizing the life cycle cost taking into account the initial cost and incentives, energy benefits, as well as looking at the overall environmental impact. The research aims at improving the energy efficiency of the existing building stock by upgradingthe building envelope through carrying out various retrofit measures and the integration of photovoltaics. The objective is to reach the optimal combination of applying energy efficiency measures and PV integration in an energy efficient retrofit. A systematicapproach forthe proper selection of the best retrofit options for existing office buildings is presented. This approach introduces methods to evaluate the improvement in the thermal performance of the building , quantify the energy benefits and environmental benefits achieved and assess the economic impact
