Biomaterials represent the most active research area in the field of bone tissue engineering. A bioactive material refers to a material designed to induce specific biological activity in a body tissue. Bioactive glasses are a group of reactive surface glass-ceramic biomaterials used as implant materials in the human body to repair and replace a diseased or damaged bone. Their bioactivity is based on the ability to form a biological apatite layer when they are immersed in a physiological solution or implanted in human body. The composites based on biodegradable polymers and bioactive ceramics to form fiber scaffolds have attracted much attention for applications in bone reconstruction and repairing because of their biological and physicochemical advantages. In this study, preparation of Bioactive Glass (BG) with composition 46S6 by melt molding technique (M-BG) in addition to sol gel technique (SBG) was carried out. Characterization by X-ray Fluorescence (XRF), Fouriertransform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and Dynamic light scattering (DLS) have been investigated. The particle size of the prepared nano-bioactive glass(S-BG) by modified solgel ranges between 5.9 to 13.7 nm by TEM and in the range of 32 nm±0.09 by Zetasizer instrument ER -
