The main parameters for an absorption refrigeration system, using the proposed working fluids, were compared at different operating conditions to select the optimal working fluids. Moreover, a special focus was given to the effect of operating conditions and butane recovery on the performance of the optimal systems. Finally, the performance of the optimal systems was examined in contrast to that of the commercial absorption chillers and to that of the traditional vapor-compression chiller. Results revealed that the best performance was achieved by butane/heavy naphtha and by butane/light reformate. The COP passed through a different maximum value at certain recovery at different operating conditions. Low reboiler temperatures were feasible at low butane recoveries with almost the same COP. Butane/heavy naphtha could compete effectively with the commercial absorption chillers, whereas butane/light reformate showed lower COP values but had lower reboiler temperatures. Compared to vapor-compression chiller, the proposed systems saved a significant amount electric power ER -
