Nonfatal or fatal acute myocardialinfarction or sudden death can occur in such patients, most notably young athletes. Thus, it is of utmost importanceto detect these anomalies and differentiate them fromatherosclerotic coronary artery disease in patients with suspectedangina pectoris. Aim of the work:Evaluation ofburden of atherosclerosisin a group of patients with coronary artery anomalies referred for multi slice computed tomography coronary angiography (MSCT CA) and determining the extent of atherosclerotic coronary artery disease among these patients Methods: Angiographic data of 206 patients undergoing CT- CA from January November 2015 to June 2016were analyzed to determine presence of coronary artery anomalies. Gensini score and calcium score were calculated to detect prevalence of coronary artery disease. Results:We reviewed 2755 patients scheduled for MSCT-CA, out of which 16 (0.6%) had coronary anomalies. Mean age was 53.92 ± 8.34. malegender dominated our patients with congenital coronary artery anomalies .The most common coronary artery anomaly was origin (15, 93.75%) and the most common vessel affected was theRCA (9, 50%). Incidence of coronary artery disease in anomalous coronary patients was 56.25 % detected byGensini score while it is 25% in anomalous vessels. Conclusion:Prevalence of coronary artery anomalies in our study is0.6%. Incidence ofsevere coronary artery disease in anomalous vessels was 25 % detected by Gensini score. This suggestthat anomalous arteries are more prone to stenotic disease ER -
