In the present study, the main objective was to prove the ultrasonography ability of diagnosing different bowel diseases in the acute or chronic settings. Methods: Bowel ultrasound examination of 47 patients was performed by high frequency (12-15MHz) probe, and was compared by clinical and surgical data after reaching the diagnosis and with CT examination or Pathology reports when available. Results: When correlated with clinical, surgical and pathology diagnoses, ultrasound examination of the bowel was proved to be as effective regarding the ability of diagnosing different bowel diseases. Conclusion: Ultrasound is an easy, safe and reliable method of investigation of bowel diseases, especially in children.
