The results of clinical studies evaluating the efficacy of prolotherapy using dextrose or PRP have provided positive evidence for its effectiveness. However, randomized clinical trials are lacked to compare the therapeutic efficacy of these two types of prolotherapy in patients with TMJ hypermobility. Therefore, it was the aim of this study to clinically assess and compare between PRP and dextrose prolotherapy used for treatment of symptomatic TMJ hypermobility with a view for establishing a more effective treatment alternative. Patients and Methods: Forty two patients with symptomatic TMJ hypermobility were included in this study. They were 7 male and 35 females. Their ages ranged from 18-48 years, with an average of 30.69 ± 8.67 years. After accepting to be enrolled in the present study, the participants were randomly assigned into one of two equal groups using a computer-generated randomization schedule. In PRP group, each TMJ received 2 sessions of intra-articular and pericapsular injections with 1.5 ml of PRP with 2 weeks apart. While in dextrose group, each TMJ received 4 sessions of intra-articular and pericapsular injections with a dextrose solution of 2ml of 10% dextrose and 1ml of 2% mepivacaine with six weeks apart Both the assessor and the statistician regarding the group allocation ER -
