A total of 299 samples were collected from 5 species of freshwater and brackishwater fish (from five organs: gills, liver, gas bladder, intestine and spleen) through 6 governorates. Forty two samples were positive for Mycoplasma and designated Mycoplasma species 1 (35 isolates) and Mycoplasma species 2 (7 isolates) according to the biochemical characterization, PCR test and consequent genetic blast allocation through NCBI Blast system. The two isolates were subjected to further identification by sequence analysis of the 16S rRNA gene which revealed the high similarity between the two isolates and the presence of 98 % similarity of them to some other Mycoplasma specially M. gallinarum and M. adleri based on nucleotide sequences comparison at the NCBI Blast System
