Hamstrings tendon in anatomical single bundle anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction / PY - 2018/// CY - Cairo : PB - Karam Ali Eldamarawy , KW - Anterior cruciate ligament KW - Hamstrings tendon KW - Quadriceps tendon N1 - Thesis (Ph.D.) - Cairo University - Faculty of Medicine - Department of Orthopedic Surgery; Issued also as CD N2 - Introduction: Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is a distinct ligamentous which has been found to play an important role in the knee stability. Patients and methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted on 30 patients who had ACL tear and grade 3 pivot shift. Each group had 15 patients; group (1) underwent anatomical single bundle ACL reconstruction with hamstring tendon graft while group (2) underwent anatomical single bundle ACL reconstruction with quadriceps tendon graft. Results: After 12 months follow up, there was no statistically significant difference between the 2 groups regarding Lysholm score, IKDC and the mean side to side difference of anterior tibial translation using KT1000. Conclusion: There is a statistically non-significant difference between using of hamstrings tendon graft in ACL reconstruction versus using of quadriceps tendon graft in ACL reconstruction . ER -
