Each participant received 2 cartridges of either mepivacaine or articaine anesthetic solution by inferior alveolar nerve block technique. The endodontic procedure started after 15 minutes of injection when the patient reported lip numbness. The participants were asked to record preoperative pain, pain during access cavity preparation and also pain during instrumentation using NRS.The procedure was completed in a single visit. If participant felt moderate or severe pain during access cavity preparation or instrumentation, the procedure was stopped and a supplemental intraligamentary or intrapulpal anesthesia was given ER -
