All patients were regularly assessed both clinically and radiographically upto 4 months post-operatively. Statistical analysis showed that both techniques showed a significant increase in alveolar bone width immediately post operative and at 4 months. The mean graft resorption in the interpositional group 4 months post operative was considered non significant while in the onlay group the mean graft resorption was significant. Thus within the limits of this study the following could be concluded: {u271E}Interpositional block grafts offers a viable alternative for mandibular horizontal ridge augmentation compared to onlay bone graft {u271E}Interpositional graft is a more technique sensitive procedure as compared to onlay block graft and requires certain level of surgical experience to be performed successfully ER -
