Objectives: To determine the relation of polypharmacy and the geriatric syndrome. Methodology: This is a case-control study conducted on 150 elderly, attending Alkasr Elainy clinic. The participants in this study was over the age of sixty-five and were divided into two group, the case group(100 individuals) who used to take more than 5 different medicines and the controls (50 individuals) who used to take less than 5 different drugs. CGA was done to all participants. The criteria of inclusions and exclusions were assessed. Results: there were significant difference between the two group regarding vision, hearing, urinary incontinence, depression, cognition, daily activity, sleep, risk of fall, hospital stay and nutrition.
