Social cognition impairment has been demonstrated significantly in schizophrenia, resulting in functional problems. Although there are growing body of evidence in the last decade have been studied the efficacy of many social cognitive interventions among schizophrenic patients, most of these studies focus on certain domains such as emotion perception and theory of mind with little focus on attributional bias and social perception.Additionally, these studies were conducted on population with Western and Asian cultures. Therefore, we need to conduct such studies among Egyptian patients. The study evaluated the impact of enhancement program on social cognition impairment among schizophrenic patients. Twenty schizophrenic patients were sequentially allocated to 15 sessions of intervention which designed to target the core domains of social cognition. Schizophrenic patients were compared at baseline assessment with a control group of twenty people without psychiatric disorder. Baseline assessments of symptomatology and social cognition were completed using the Arabic version of the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM IV Axis I disorder, Penn Emotion Recognition Test, Social Perception Scale, and Internal, Personal, and Situational Attributions Questionnaires. The baseline measures of social cognition were repeated in the schizophrenic group only at the end of the intervention
