N2  - Background and aim: Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is one of the most ubiquitous viruses that canse liver pathology. presumably, a co-infection of EBV and hepatitis C Virus (EBV) may impact the prognosis of HCV-infected patiets. hence, in this study we endeavored to estimate the effect of EBV infection on the response to treatment with interferon and ribavirin therapy in chronic HCV patients. Methodes: thestaudy was conducted on 84 chronic HCV patients and 16 control subjects. viral loads were assessed using reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction, while anti-EBV IgM levels were determined by ELISA
