Total number of typhlitis studied 49 episoes. Conclusion: Not all patients in our series responded to conservative treatment in our study, so it is important to monitor patients for the development of secondary complications following the acute episode and our study does not support a conservative management of typhlitis only, Aggressive antimicrobial treatment is essential, and we believe meropenem is a good first-line therapy with addition of an aminglycoside and antifungal agent when fever persists UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
