Herein, we report on the victorious synthesis of metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) on TiO₂ nano-tubes (NTs) using a layer-by-layer (LbL) approach for the first time. Highly crystalline and homogenous thin lms of MOFswere grown and the lms characterized using XRD, SEM, FT-IR and UV/Vis spectroscopy. Moreover, the utilization of the MOF lms as sensitizerswasprobed in bespoke Graetzel type liquid junction solar cells. The HOMO-LUMO level of the frameworks is found to be suitable to allow the use of the frameworks as a sensitizer for TiO₂.The constructed cell performance revealed anIscof 1.16 mA cm-2, Vocof 0.63 V, FF of 0.33, and Eof 0.42%. Further, pump-probe transient laser spectroscopy was performed to investigate the energy and charge transfer dynamics of the MOF/TiO₂ NTs interface
