The rapid development of information and communication technologies, hereafter (ICTs), and their multilayered employment in the social and political life have recently become evident in the Arab world. Social media has transformed from an arena used primarily for communication to a space for representation and articulation. This study examines the phenomenon of the extension of the field of social, cultural, and political expression due to Internet/social media usage as an alternative for the shrinking of public space. How the category of youth succeeded to construct spaces and public(s) before and after the Egyptian revolution of 2011, requires further analysis. The emergence of social 2non-movements3 (Bayat, Life as Politics 5) in the Arab region pin-pointed the limitations of physical and communal space and crystalized the novel techniques of reclaiming public space and creating social spaces as well as public spheres. By focusing on youth initiatives, different kinds of spaces and the usage of multiple platforms are investigated
