Inhaled NO (iNO) is main line of treatment.Decreased endogenous nitric oxide (NO) synthesis play a role in the etiopathogenesis of PPHN on the other side in hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) there is activation of neuronal nitric oxide synthase and generation of NO.Aim of work: detection of serum level of endogenous NO in term and near term neonates with PPHN either associated with birth asphyxia or not and its relation to outcome.patients and methods: case- control study was conducted in the period from July 2018 till the end of November 2018 as 40 neonate with PPHN(20 primary non asphyxiated and 20 secondary asphyxiated)were admitted at Cairo University Hospital NICU compared to 40 healthy neonate using history taking, examination ,echocardiography, labs ,serum NO level and follow up UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
