The existence of a valid and reliable tool for measuring safety climate is very important and it can facilitate the collection of accurate data. Aim: Was to design and validate a tool to measure safety climate at selected hospital. Design:The methodological design was conducted to achieve the aim of the current study. Setting: The study was conducted in a teaching hospital affiliated to Cairo University hospitalsas well as different faculties of nursing in Egypt. Subjects: The proposed tool was distributed to a convenient sample of 131 jury members included 35 of nursing faculty members and 96 of experienced nursing staff to test the validity of the proposed tool beside a random sample of 320 staff nurses included at the reliability phase of the proposed tool.Results: The proposed tool's items were reduced to 129 items sub-categorized under 12 dimensions. Conclusion: The validity and the reliability of the developed scale were satisfactory, where the proposed tool could be used to investigate the perception of employees about safety climate. Recommendations: Preparation and involvement of the entire workforce throughout the process are necessary before launching into the use of a safety climate survey tool.
