Aims: of this study were to establish normative data for hand function using JTHFT and to investigate the effect of age, gender and dominance differences on hand function in normal Egyptian individuals. Design and participants: One shot cross sectional descriptive design was used. One hundred and fifty normal Egyptians were equally stratified into 3 age groups Group A (20>30), Group B (30> 40), Group C (40 >50). Methods: JTHFT sub-tests were introduced to all participants that included; writing; turning over 3 by 5-inch cards; picking up small common objects; simulated feeding; stacking checkers; picking up large objects; and picking up a large heavy object. Measurement outcome: Speed on completing each JTHFT subtest was calculated in seconds, and the total score was computed. Results: normative data for middle aged Egyptian{u2019}s have been established, the finding provide evidence that handedness & age may affect hand function especially high level fine dexterity activities. Statistically significant differences were found between gender, age of dominance (P<0.001) UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
