The construction and performance characteristics of new modified screen printed (MSPE) and carbon paste (MCPE) electrodes for determination of metoclopramide hydrochloride (MCPHC) drug based on the ion-pair formation between MCP with sodium tetraphenylborate (Na-TPB) in pure, pharmaceutical preparations and biological fluids have been investigated. Different experimental conditions namely types of materials used to fabricate the working electrode (plasticizer), titrant, pH, temperature and life time were studied. The fabricated electrodes demonstrated near Nernstian response over wide linear range of 1.0106-1.010-2 mol L-1 metoclopramide with lower limit of detection of 1.010-6 mol L-1 and slopes of 58.10±0.31 mV decade-1 and 58.90±0.15 mV decade-1 over pH range 3.0-8.0 and 3.07.0 for MCPE and MSPE, respectively. The MSPE and MCPE denoted a fast response time of 3 and 2 s and can be utilized at least 83 and 175 days without any remarkable deviations for MCPE and MSPE, respectively. The proposed electrodes displayed good selectivity for MCPHC with respect to number of potential interfering substances as inorganic cations, sugars and other pharmaceutical excipients
