N2  - Naga Hammadi Barrage (NHB) was built downstream High Aswan Dam It has been decided to replace the existing barrage with a new multipurpose barrage at km Summer water level upstream existing NHB and downstream Water level upstream new NHB is 659m which means an increase in Nile water levels of about upstream old NHB and about 4m in the reach between the two barrages These increases in Nile water levels are expected to cause increases of groundwater levels
