A new switch architecture equipped with the wavelength converters (WCs) and the dynamic pump-wavelength selection (DPS) with parametric wavelength converters (PWCs) naming it WDPS architecture is proposed. Three new schemes are proposed, the first uses the non-circular limitedWCs (LWCs) and the DPS with PWCs naming it LDPS scheme, the second uses the circular limited WCs (CWCs) and the DPS with PWCs naming it CDPS scheme and the third uses the LWCs and the DPS with chained PWCs naming it LDPSC scheme. All the three schemes are implemented by using the proposed WDPS architecture so we name it the LDPS architecture while adopting the LDPS scheme, the CDPS architecture while adopting the CDPS scheme and the LDPSC architecture while adopting the LDPSC scheme. We use a simulation to evaluate the proposed switch performance in terms of packet loss rate (PLR) aiming at improving the PLR compared to conventional architectures. We compare the proposed LDPS architecture with two conventional architectures, one used a dedicated LWC for each input wavelength channel (IWC) naming it the LWC architecture and the one that used a shared pool of DPS with PWCs naming it the DPS architecture. Also, we compare the proposed CDPS architecture with the proposed LDPS architecture and two conventional architectures, one used a dedicated CWCs for each IWC naming it the CWC architecture and the conventional DPS architecture UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
