In medical field, magnesium alloys are more attractive due to their degradation behavior in the human body, producing in general harmless corrosion products. The present work aims to provide a comprehensive study for the corrosion behavior of magnesium and its alloys in various physiological solutions for better and effective utilization in different applications. The thesis concerns with: (1) Comparative electrochemical behavior study of certain Mg-based alloys in artificial perspiration bio-fluid for consumer industrial applications, (2) Corrosion degradation of AXJ530 magnesium alloy in PBS solution and its mitigation by fluoride and chitosan coatings for osteosynthetic applications, (3) Influence of serum albumin on the biodegradation behavior of AZ80 magnesium alloy in simulated blood plasma fluid for cardiovascular stenting, and (4) Influence of amoxicillin drug on biodegradation behavior of AZ31 magnesium alloy in artificial urine environment for ureteral stent applications UR - http://172.23.153.220/th.pdf ER -
